September 6 - Beginners Workshop
September 13 - Intermediate Workshop
September 20 – Advanced Workshop

McAuliffe 4th - 8th grade students who are interested in learning about LEGO robotics can participate in a series of exciting Saturday workshops.  You can sign up for as many of the classes as you would like but please note the prerequisites.  The workshops will be held in Mr. Smith’s room (E-6).  There is no cost, but you must register.  Space is limited to around 20 students per workshop, and spots will be filled in the order registration forms are received. Forms should be delivered to Mr. Smith in his room before or after school.

BEGINNER LEVEL - This workshop is aimed at students who have never worked with LEGO Mindstorms robotics kits in the past.  It will help you understand the parts of an EV3 robot and the basics of programming them.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL - Students will program their robots to  use sensors to respond in different conditions.  You should have some experience with LEGO robotics to attend this workshop (like completing the beginner workshop or last year’s club robotics team).
ADVANCED LEVEL - This workshop will focus on more difficult programming concepts to accomplish various tasks.  You MUST have previous experience on a team, club, or in beginner or intermediate workshops.

If your child did not bring a form home with them, you can download the registration form here.

Pull a Tab for Ronald McDonald Houses
The CMA TSA Chapter would like to ask you to save pop tabs for our Chapter, as TSA Chapters across Kansas save tabs for local Ronald McDonald Houses.  Just save them up over the summer and then bring them back in the fall!

Welcome to McAuliffe K-8 Academy
Christa McAuliffe was a public school teacher from New Hampshire who was selected to become the first teacher in space.  Her energy and love for students and teaching made her an outstanding educator.   The possibilities are endless as to how we can incorporate her character traits,  love of science, and helping students make real life connections with the skills they are learning in our classrooms.
For a more-detailed biography of Christa McAuliffe, click on the Bio link on the left side of our page.

Christa McAuliffe is located just north of Pawnee on 143rd Street East.
